If you’re looking to install a new sliding door wardrobe in your home or you want to upgrade the wardrobes you already have, Flexi Robes can make it a reality.
A core component of a good sliding door wardrobe is the door track system you use – both in terms of functionality and the simple but crucial style they can add to your entire wardrobe.
Read on to learn about the different types of track systems available for sliding wardrobe doors, how different track options offer greater functionality for various settings, and how you can bring the whole look together with a variety of striking track finishes.
The two most common track systems you’ll come across for sliding wardrobe doors are the double track and triple track systems – and chances are you’ve seen both of these track systems in your or someone else’s home. In general, two track systems are the common standard.
Double tracks can work with multiple doors (two or more) but are typically at their most practical with wardrobes that have no more than three sliding doors. Triple track systems are ideal for wardrobes with three or more doors.
Both options are good, but one system is likely to be better suited to you than the other, depending on the size of your wardrobe and the space you have to work with.
If you’re working with a wardrobe where you only need two sliding doors, then a double track is your only option. It’s when your wardrobe has three or more sliding doors that you’ll want to consider if a triple track is the right option for you.
When you go to open the wardrobe, you can only ever have a third of it open at any one time.
With a triple track system, each door could be placed on a devoted track. So, at any time, you can access two-thirds of your wardrobe. This greater ease of access makes using and arranging your wardrobe a more pleasant experience, especially if you and someone else need to access it at the same time.
It goes without saying that if you have a larger wardrobe with four-plus sliding doors, a triple track system is a far more ideal choice than a double track.
For design, be sure to consider the various finishes that can be added to your wardrobe tracks.
As part of our product options, our tracks (both double and triple) come with a range of finishes you can choose to match not just the look of your wardrobe, but your room as well. So, for example, if you have a wardrobe with dark oak sliding doors, a track with a matt gold or matt bronze finish would bring the whole look together.
The different finishes that can be worked into your overall design include:
Black, white, almond cream, matt gold, matt silver, matt bronze, bright gold, bright silver, bright bronze, APO grey, white birch, and white.
Consider the sliding door designs and colours and the corresponding track finishes that could be a good aesthetic match. Also, consider whether a double or triple track system is the ideal option to match the size of your wardrobe.
